ToughLove From A to Z - The Stages of Divorce

Everyone has a podcast these days. And now, we do too.

Introducing, ToughLove From A to Z, an original podcast from your two favorite divorce attorneys in NYC. (That’s us, Lauren and Paige.)

On ToughLove, we’ll be sharing the good, the bad and the ugly about getting divorced in New York, among other messy family dynamics. It’s an inside scoop on some of the tough love we give our clients, and ourselves, as we navigate difficult periods in our lives.

To kick it off, we thought we’d start with the basics: The Stages of Divorce. We’re not going to be talking a lot about the legal stages, although there will be some of that. What we’ll really be digging into are the emotional and the practical milestones that you’ll hit head-on as you untangle your situation.

Sometimes we’ll have expert guests, sometimes we’ll ask our former clients to (anonymously) share their experiences, and sometimes it will just be us sharing with you the things you need to hear - especially when it’s not what you want to hear. You know, ToughLove.

The Stages of Divorce Series will cover the following:

  • The Decision to Divorce - You’ve Hit Rock Bottom

  • When to Hire a Lawyer - You Can’t Do This Alone

  • Confronting Your Spouse - The Fear, The Guilt, The Shame

  • How to Break It To Your Children - What Should They Know and How?

  • Physical, Emotional and Psychological Decoupling - Relearning Yourself and Your Role in Your Relationships

  • Dueling Parenting Styles - Learning To Accept The Things We Cannot Change

  • The Long-Game - You Will Need Endurance And GritFinalizing

  • The Papers - The Loss of A Love, The Proof of The Death

Join us as we get raw, get honest and hopefully have some laughs (which are necessary!) along the way. If you’d like to be a guest for any of the discussions and share your story through any one of these stages, we’d love to hear from you. Contact us to begin the discussion.
